ALLEN PARK — A woman was charged with drunken driving, having an expired license plate and for not having car insurance when she was subject to a traffic stop for speeding and swerving at 2 a.m. Dec. 4 on westbound Outer Drive east of the Southfield Freeway.
The woman, who admitted to having several mixed drinks, failed standardized field sobriety tests, which were terminated when she was at risk of falling and injuring herself.
A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.139, higher than the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
Her vehicle was impounded and towed, and she was taken to the Allen Park police station, where she was booked and held.
