The Dearborn Historical Museum Commandant’s Quarters adorns the cover of the 2023 Dearborn City Calendar.
DEARBORN – The Dearborn Department of Communications unveiled the 2023 Dearborn City Calendar, entitled “Historic Dearborn,” Dec. 13.
The calendar contains important dates for public meetings, tax deadlines, property maintenance tips, city phone numbers, and a summary of city finances.
The calendars are available in hard copy form for residents’ convenience at the following city buildings.
• Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave.
• Esper Branch Library, 12929 W. Warren Ave.
• Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave.
• Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
• Bryant Branch Library, 22100 Michigan Ave.
A digital version of the calendar is also available at www.cityofdearborn.org.
Calendars will be delivered to all city-operated senior living communities. In 2020, the city discontinued direct mail of calendars to produce taxpayer savings against the high cost of postage, and due to increased utilization of digital calendars in many households.
Accommodations will be made for individuals who cannot leave their homes.
The calendar, which features momentous photos from Dearborn’s past, opens with a letter from Mayor Abdullah Hammoud.
“This year’s theme of ‘Historic Dearborn’ honors not only our city’s history but also the people who do the important work of historical preservation,” Hammoud wrote. “For decades, the Dearborn Historical Museum has stood at the forefront of this work, bringing award-winning educational and cultural programming to our city.”
Hammoud also recognized Museum Director Jack Tate’s contributions to the city
“As we strive together to shape Dearborn’s future, we are committed to using history as a guide,” Hammoud wrote. “And there is no guide more brilliant than our very own Jack Tate, Director of the Dearborn Historical Museum. With over half a century of service to Dearborn, Jack’s impact on our city’s cultural life is immeasurable.”
The Dearborn City Calendar is produced annually by the Dearborn Department of Communications, formerly known as the Department of Public Information. Director of Communications Bilal Baydoun said
