SOUTHGATE — A driver who pulled over the afternoon of Nov. 23 in the 13000 block of Birrell Street when she saw three dogs, two German shepherds and a St. Bernard, running loose, was bitten by one of the dogs when she tried to see if any of them was wearing a collar.
The victim, who had a slight puncture wound to her hand, said a nearby resident quickly gathered the dogs and took them into a nearby house, while stating that the dogs did not normally bite anyone.
When police officers went to the house to follow up and ascertain the dogs’ health status, no one answered the door, despite the fact that the dogs were observed to be inside the house.
The victim was advised to seek medical attention if the injury worsened, and animal control personnel were advised to provide a followup.
