WYANDOTTE — A 38-year-old Riverview man was found passed out inside his vehicle at 3:10 a.m. Dec. 11 with his foot on the brake, and the vehicle in drive, in an eastbound lane of Ford Avenue near 5th Street.
Fearing that the unconscious man might move his foot off the brake, allowing the vehicle to move, the police officer placed his patrol vehicle in front of the man’s vehicle, then gained access to the interior and placed the vehicle in park.
He awakened the man, who showed signs of intoxication. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of more than twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
The man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, and because it was his fourth offense, it was a felony.
