The Dearborn Symphony performs Passionate Romantics

January 19, 2023 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

Detroit Symphony violinist Adrienne Rönmark will be featured during Bruch’s “Violin Concerto” during the Dearborn Symphony’s Romantic Era concert Feb. 3.

DEARBORN – The Dearborn Symphony will celebrate the Romantic Era with masterful composers who have provided many of the top hits on classical playlists at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

This evening of musical fireworks opens with Bizet’s grand orchestral melody of “Farandole” taken from a motif of the popular French Christmas song “March of the Kings.” Maestro Jarvi skillfully combines the orchestra with the Dearborn Youth Symphony for a classic concert opener.

The Dearborn Symphony continues with Tchaikovsky’s energetic overture “Capriccio Italien,” beginning with the famous bugle call and incorporating Italian street music and folk songs of the day.

After intermission, concert goers will delight in the virtuosic performance of Bruch’s beloved “Violin Concerto” featuring acclaimed Detroit Symphony violinist Adrienne Rönmark.

Concert tickets range from $15 to $35 and are available by phoning the Symphony at 313-565-2424 or the theater box office at 313-943-2354. Go to dearbornsymphony.org for more information.

The Celebration of Sound will continue in 2023 on St. Patrick’s Day with the Symphony featuring baritone Jonathan Lasch with special guests, the Lynch Family.

The season finale celebrates arts month with Pictures Worth 1,000 Notes on May 5 paired with a special exhibition at the Padzieski Gallery.

Individual tickets and mini-season subscriptions of three concerts are still available by calling the Symphony office or going to the website.

The Dearborn Symphony has partnered with local restaurants for “Dinner and a Concert.” The restaurants offer a 20 percent discount to symphony ticket-holders on concert nights. Reservations are recommended at La Pita, Mint 29, and TRIA at The Henry.

Season sponsors include Dearborn Sausage Co. and North Empire with additional support from the Michigan Arts & Culture Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Kresge Foundation, and the Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs.
