Fire hydrant damaged

MELVINDALE — A box truck hit and damaged a fire hydrant the morning of Jan. 22 in the 2800 block of Margaret Street.

The hydrant was broken off at the base and pushed into an adjacent yard. The nearby roadway had about 1.5 inches of snow and was slick and slippery.

The Department of Public Works was notified of the damage.
