RIVERVIEW — A 24-year-old Southgate woman who was stopped on Jefferson Avenue south of Sibley Road the afternoon of Jan. 23 for an expired plate, an unregistered vehicle and for driving with a suspended license was given a break by a police officer, who didn’t impound her boyfriend’s black Chrysler 300 when she told him she was living in it.
The woman, who told the officer she had recently been evicted from her residence, was issued misdemeanor violations for driving with a suspended license, having an expired plate and having an unregistered vehicle. She was issued a warning for the lack of insurance, and advised to no longer drive it until the issues were addressed.
