DEARBORN – The Dearborn Homecoming festival will return to its original location, Ford Field Park, this year, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud announced.
The city’s 42nd Homecoming will be held from Aug. 4 to 6.
“I’m thrilled to announce that the Homecoming festival is coming home to Ford Field Park this year,” Hammoud said. “This decision required a lot of planning and preparation to ensure the viability and longevity of Ford Field as the festival’s home, and I’m grateful to the city workers who helped make it a reality. I’ll see you on the hill.”
The city also announced the return of the Food Truck Corridor, and new this year, a special Vendor Village dedicated to highlighting the work of the area’s artists and non-profits.
Businesses, organizations, and individuals can also support this longstanding, family-friendly event at various sponsorship levels.

Festival planning is under way, and festivalgoers this year can expect many of the same cherished attractions and amenities. The festival was established in 1980 and has been a summer staple in the city ever since. It initially began, in part, as a reunion for graduates of Dearborn’s high schools, and is now an annual tradition that draws visitors from across the region.
Homecoming has traditionally been one of the most important fundraisers for dozens of non-profit groups that serve the community. In addition to volunteering their time and talents at the festival, many of these groups raise funds to support their work.
The festival will be open from noon to 11 p.m. all three days. More details are forthcoming about entertainment lineup, food, fireworks, and other amenities. Follow the city’s official social media pages @DearbornGov for additional details as they become available.
