MELVINDALE — A man who tried to steal cash from a business’ snack payment box was taken into custody Feb. 4 after he was found to have several active arrest warrants.
An employee at Melvindale Motor and Transmission, 17672 Dix Avenue, said a man who was harassing her also tried to steal $22 stored in a snack payment box.
In addition to an outstanding warrant for fraud in Melvindale, the man had active warrants from several other nearby cities.
The license plate on his Jeep was confiscated after it was found to be registered to a 2004 Chevrolet. The Jeep was then impounded and towed.
The man was then taken to the Dearborn police station, where he was booked and held.
