MELVINDALE — An unmedicated man with mental health issues walked into the Melvindale police station Feb. 2 to complain that he was being harassed while staying at the Red Roof Inn.

He said that earlier, he had been harassed at the Holiday Inn in Allen Park and was asked to leave.

The man, who lives in the Cleveland area, said he had driven to the area to visit Canada, where he did some shopping.

He said he has experienced harassment for the past 20 years and admitted that he hears voices. He said he was not experiencing any urges to hurt himself or anyone else. He declined to be hospitalized, but agreed to seek medical care in the future.
