RIVERVIEW — A Riverview woman reported Feb. 27 that an identity thief opened an account in her name with Bank of America, then overdrew the account using the online Zelle cash app.

The victim said she became aware of the fraud when Bank of America, with whom she has never had an account, sent her a statement in January stating that her account with them was overdrawn.

The woman was given an affidavit of fraud and forgery to fill out and submit to police officers.
