ALLEN PARK — Two Gerber brand knives, valued at $40, were stolen the evening of Feb. 24 from Dunham’s Sports, 23150 Outer Drive, by a white male driving a black 2000 GMC Savana.

A store employee saw the man stuff the merchandise down the front of his pants, and a security sensor sounded when the man left the store.

An employee also recorded the man running to his vehicle, and captured the license plate number with their cell phone video camera.

Police officers compared surveillance footage from inside the store with a photo of the registered owner of the Savana, identifying the thief. A citation for retail fraud was sent to the address on his Michigan driver’s license.
