DEARBORN — An illegal turn on the night of March 2 resulted in a traffic stop that revealed that the driver, a 35-year-old Dearborn man, had a suspended driver’s license, an expired vehicle registration and an active arrest warrant.

The traffic stop was initiated when the man made a prohibited left turn from southbound Maple Street onto Prospect Street to reach the Shell gas station, 4001 Schaefer Road.

His vehicle, a blue 2015 Kia Optima, was impounded and towed. His girlfriend arrived on the scene and took possession of the man’s backpack, which contained his laptop computer and a pair of Nike Air Jordan basketball shoes.

The man was taken to the Dearborn police station, where he was booked and held until he posted bond.
