DEARBORN — A stranger who knocked on a man’s residence at 6 p.m. March 14 asking for $20,000 raised suspicion and prompted a police report.

The complainant, who lives in the 4400 block of Lois Street, said he addressed the man, a stranger to him, remotely via his Ring doorbell cam, after which the stranger addressed him by his first name before leaving.

Police officers advised the man to contact the police immediately if the stranger returned.
