RIVERVIEW — A 24-year-old Wyandotte woman was cited for operating while intoxicated with a high blood alcohol content at 2:36 a.m. March 22 after a traffic stop was initiated when she was seen driving 63 mph in a 40-mph zone on eastbound Pennsylvania Road.
The woman admitted to having a few drinks that night at a local bar. Her speech was slurred and she smelled of intoxicants.
She failed multiple standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.174, more than twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
The vehicle was impounded and towed, and her passenger declined a courtesy ride home, opting to walk home.
Additional breath tests were performed at the police station, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.19.
Her driver’s license was confiscated and she was booked and held.
