TAYLOR — A 68-year-old man who claimed he was beaten and carjacked by an acquaintance in the early morning hours of April 8 near Taylor Little League North Park kept changing his story, and eventually his 2012 Jeep Liberty reappeared, one block from his apartment on Linden Street in River Rouge.
The man smelled strongly of intoxicants, his eyes were glossy and he was unsteady on his feet. He also had marks, bruising and lacerations on his face from the alleged beating, for which he was treated by first responders, then given a courtesy ride home.
