WYANDOTTE — An erratic driver on Fort Street near Goddard Road at 2:08 a.m. April 25 led a police officer on a high-speed chase through Wyandotte, Lincoln Park and Detroit, recklessly endangering other motorists at speeds exceeding 100 mph on northbound Fort Street.

When the police officer first spotted the driver, he ran the license plate and noted that the registered owner was wanted on a felony warrant. When a traffic stop was initiated and the officer approached the vehicle, the driver suddenly accelerated and narrowly avoided dragging the police officer down the roadway.

When the fleeing driver reached 125 mph on northbound I-75 while recklessly passing other motorists, the pursuit was terminated to protect the public.
