SOUTHGATE — A false report of a shooting and of a man threatening a woman with a knife, and another fraudulent call reporting possible gunshots on April 24 drew police officers to the 13000 block of Poplar Street, where police officers found a bewildered couple and their paralyzed son, who is a video game streamer with a large following.
Police officers searched the residence and found nothing of concern inside. It was believed that an online follower of the gamer may have “swatted” or prank called police officers to the location.
Several neighbors confirmed that they did not hear any gunshots fired. There were no suspects.
