LINCOLN PARK — A homeowner whose catalytic converter was stolen from his 2006 Ford Escape about 5:15 a.m. May 3 said that after his wife heard a noise, he went outside and saw a person standing nearby, wearing a ski mask, who quickly drove off in a black Dodge Durango.

The next morning, when his son went to start the vehicle, the loud noise that ensued revealed that the catalytic converter had been stolen. When they reported the theft, the man provided the responding police officer with a photo of the Durango.
