MELVINDALE — Police officers were dispatched to the Motor City Motel, 17355 Raupp Road, the afternoon of June 6 after a man refused to check out of his room.
When the occupant failed to open the door and yelled an unintelligible response, a key was obtained to unlock the door.
Upon entering, the responding police officers saw a crack pipe, a copper scrubbing pad and lighters. The man had dilated pupils, was restless, moving erratically and exhibited rapid breathing. He was not speaking coherently and admitted to being under the influence of crack cocaine.
The man declined medical treatment and asked for directions to the nearest bus stop.
