TAYLOR — A 35-year-old New Boston man unsuccessfully tried three times on July 14 to steal a cartful of groceries and sundries from Meijer, 14640 Pardee Road.
During the man’s first attempt to leave the store with a cartful of groceries and other items without paying, the man was banned from the location.
The man returned a second time and unsuccessfully tried to retrieve the cartful of merchandise from the service desk, threatening a security guard as he left the store empty-handed.
When he entered the store a third time later in the day, he tried to steal $371 worth of baby items. He attempted to switch out the price stickers and remove price tags on other items. He was then detained by police officers, who recovered the merchandise he attempted to steal, cited him and again banned him from the store.
