DEARBORN – Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Abrahim Hassan Alfagieh, 36, of Dearborn with first-degree premeditated murder in the Dec. 15 stabbing death of his mother, Jamila Alwan, 70, of Dearborn.

Police responded to a call in the 7800 block of Reuter Street at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 15, where they found Alwan upstairs in a bedroom, suffering from a stab wound to the neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is alleged that her son, Alfagieh, stabbed her with a knife, then placed the 911 call that summoned first responders.

He was arraigned and remanded to jail the afternoon of Dec. 17 in 19th District Court. The probable cause conference was scheduled for Dec. 23, with a Dec. 30 preliminary examination scheduled with Judge Eugene Hunt.
