ALLEN PARK —Tools valued at $1,500 were stolen from an unlocked Chevy Express work van the afternoon of Jan. 22 while it was parked near Panera Bread, 3112 Fairlane Drive.
The victim said that when he returned to the van after a half hour meal break, he discovered the vehicle door open and tools scattered nearby on the ground.
Among the items stolen were DeWalt batteries and chargers, four drills, a reciprocating saw and a grinder.
Several nearby businesses have surveillance cameras that may have captured the incident.
The victim was advised to always lock his vehicle.
