TRENTON — A pair of trackable Apple AirPod earbuds reported stolen the morning of Jan. 3 left an electronic trail to a suspect’s resident, which may have prompted the thief to later toss the $200 earbuds onto a roadway, where they were run over and destroyed by traffic.
Stolen along with the victim’s work backpack, which was left overnight in her unlocked car, were her earbuds, car keys, work identification badge and lunch box.
