SOUTHGATE — A homeless drunken man was cited at 2:47 a.m. Nov. 15 for public intoxication, being in a public park after hours and consuming alcohol without a permit at Kiwanis Park, 13901 Leroy St.
Two other men in the park left voluntarily when asked to depart, but a third man called 911 and claimed he was being held against his will by police officers after having done nothing wrong.
The man was advised that it was illegal to misuse the 911 system. He was cited, provided with a court date and released from the scene.
