WYANDOTTE — A 35-year-old Wyandotte man was arrested the morning of Feb. 8 after he tried to flee the scene of a domestic violence service call.
The man, who drove off in a Ford F-150, was spotted by police officers near 7th Street and Ford Avenue, where the driver refused to yield to a traffic stop.
The suspect, who intentionally collided with a police vehicle in an attempt to escape, was wearing body armor and carrying a handgun, which was later found to be a BB gun.
After the vehicle crash, the man attempted to flee on foot, climbing a privacy fence in the 2400 block of Cora Street. The man attempted to barricade himself inside a house, but police officers forced entry and, after a struggle, took him into custody.
