RIVERVIEW — A 62-year-old Wyandotte woman was arrested for operating while impaired at 12:29 a.m. March 16 after she was seen swerving across the roadway and hitting curbs on eastbound Pennsylvania Road near Fordline Street.
A traffic stop was initiated with police car lights flashing, but the driver did not stop until a police officer used the patrol vehicle speakers to instruct the driver to stop.
The driver admitted to drinking earlier at a bar in Taylor. Her speech was slurred, her eyes were glossy and she smelled of alcohol.
She failed multiple standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.16, twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
Her vehicle was impounded and towed, and she was arrested and held.
