ALLEN PARK — A mentally incapacitated woman who attempted to leave Target, 3100 Fairlane Drive, on April 8 with items for which she did not pay was banned from the property, with no charges pressed, after her mother, who was shopping elsewhere in the store, said her daughter did not understand what she had done wrong.
The woman had gone to self-checkout, where she paid for some items, but not others, then attempted to leave the building.
When she was approached by an asset protection employee, the woman did not understand what was happening. The mother was then summoned and confirmed that her daughter had special needs.
