Wyandotte voters re-elected incumbent Mayor Robert DeSana — shown presiding over the April 28 City Council meeting — during the May 6 election by more than a 58 percent margin.

WYANDOTTE – Mayor Robert DeSana was re-elected to the city’s top spot, with 3,009 votes (79 percent), defeating challenger Curtis Kile with 809 votes (21 percent).
Of the eight candidates running for the six city council seats, four of the five incumbents were re-elected, with two new members joining the body. Rose Shuryan did not run for re-election, and incumbent Kaylyn Crayne was 260 votes short of being re-elected. Past (but not current) Councilmember Daniel Galeski was also not elected to the body.
Candidates winning council seats were: incumbent Kelly Stec with 3,032 votes (74.8 percent); past councilmember (1997 to 2009) Patrick Sutka with 2,511 votes (61.95 percent), incumbent Chris Calvin with 2,309 votes (56.97 percent), incumbent Todd Hanna with 2,275 votes (56.13 percent), incumbent Robert Alderman with 2,185 votes (53.91 percent), and newcomer Adriana Cerulla with 2,183 votes (53.86 percent).
Crayne finished out of the running with 1,923 votes (47.44 percent), as did Galeski with 1,762 votes (43.47 percent).
Re-elected were City Assessor Theodore Galeski with 2,467 votes (73.49 percent) with 890 votes (26.51 percent) cast for an undisclosed write-in candidate. Stan Pasko actively campaigned as a write-in candidate.
City Clerk Lawrence Stec and City Treasurer Todd Browning ran unopposed.
