DEARBORN – Senior Volunteers of the Year Larry Klieman and Kathleen Rock were recognized May 6 during the City Council meeting.
Councilmember Leslie Herrick said many of the programs the city offers would not be possibly without the help of volunteers like this year’s honorees.
“We celebrate your contributions and congratulate you on being selected this year,” she said.
Mayor Abdullah Hammoud thanked them for all they do.
“Our city only functions honestly because of our employees and staff, but also the necessary volunteers that contribute hours and hours,” he said.
Hammoud said a “fun fact” about Klieman is that he is a “professional baby cuddler” and has volunteered for many years doing so at local hospitals.
“We are thankful for all you both do here,” he said.
