HEIGHTS – The Fire Department announced the promotion of four veteran firefighters and the installation of two others at a City Hall ceremony.

Dan Chadwick was promoted to battalion chief, James Ursitti was promoted to captain, Lucas Golden was promoted to lieutenant, and Michael Pfeiffer was promoted to Firefighter II. Firefighters sworn in at the ceremony were Jack O’Riley, formerly with the Novi Fire Department, and Brendan Conrad, formerly from the South Lyon Fire Department.

O’Riley’s father is the Allen Park fire chief, and Conrad’s mother is the South Lyon fire chief.

With the additions, the Fire Department is at full staffing level for the first time in almost six years.

“Congratulations and thank you to Chief David Brogan for his effective leadership over the past several years,” Mayor Bill Bazzi said, “and a special thanks to all members of the DHFD for their continued dedication and professionalism as they keep the DHFD on the cutting edge of providing world-class protection to our residents and businesses.”
