RIVERVIEW — A blue Kia Niro that had its bumper struck by a gray Dodge Caravan backing into a parking space at George’s Party Store, 13826 Sibley Road on June 8 resulted in a police response that revealed the at-fault driver had a revoked driver’s license.
A passenger in the Kia was sitting in the car while his son was in the store, and he saw the driver of the Caravan hit the Kia’s front driver’s side fender with its rear passenger bumper.
The driver of the Caravan, a 45-year-old Riverview man, acknowledged being the at-fault party. A record check revealed that his vehicle was insured, but a check of the Law Enforcement Information Network revealed that he did not have a valid driver’s license.
His vehicle was then impounded and towed, and he was cited for driving with a suspended license and for being unable to produce proof of insurance when requested by a police officer.
He was then given a courtesy ride to his home.
