TAYLOR — A 16-year-old boy who tried to sell a pair of $1,000 Balenciaga shoes to a 16-year-old classmate on May 31 gave chase on Springs Village Boulevard when he realized the other teen had paid him with counterfeit cash.
The buyer fled on foot before jumping into the car of an innocent passerby.
The seller and his brother followed in their vehicle, which sideswiped the stranger’s vehicle that the shoe thief jumped into. The driver of the unrelated vehicle then told the teen to get out of her car.
The pursuers sideswiped the bystander’s car a second time.
The pursuing vehicle then left the area. The two men in that car later told police officers how the shoe buyer had tried to trick them with counterfeit cash.
The whereabouts of the buyer was unknown.
