ALLEN PARK — A woman who may have been drunk and high hit a parked car at 12:48 a.m. May 31 with her tan Mercury Grand Marquis on Cleveland Avenue near Colwell Avenue, after which she abandoned her vehicle and fled on foot.
The abandoned vehicle was searched, and a small bag of marijuana and a nearly empty small bottle of Jack Daniels was found inside.
The vehicle was impounded and towed. Police checked the Taylor address of the vehicle’s registered owner, where a person said the woman was staying at the Allen Park Motor Lodge.
Police officers checked the Allen Park Motor Lodge, which was within walking distance from the crash, where a clerk provided them with the woman’s room number.
