HEIGHTS — A man reported June 17 that he received what he thought was an email from his boss instructing him to purchase gift cards for company employees, but was really from a fraudster.
He said he went to four different stores and purchased 23 gift cards for $4,600, then sent the codes to the person he thought was his boss. He later discovered that all the cards had been emptied, and he had been tricked.
