LINCOLN PARK — Two preteen boys stole two children’s bicycles the afternoon of Aug. 1 from the backyard of a house in the 1300 block of University Avenue, abandoning one bicycle of lesser value on the front lawn.
A neighbor saw the boys loitering near the yard when no one was home and encouraged them to leave.
The boys were seen earlier on a nearby gas station’s surveillance camera footage with the bicycle that was later abandoned. Police officers took the forfeited bicycle into evidence.
