WYANDOTTE — A 44-year-old Lincoln Park man was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Aug. 16 near the intersection of Biddle Avenue and Poplar Street following reports of a drunken man causing a disturbance.
The man, who smelled strongly of alcohol, was screaming when police officers arrived. When taken into custody for disorderly conduct, he began to slam his head against the partition inside the police vehicle, and later tried to kick out the windows with his feet.
When the man wouldn’t calm down, he was pepper-sprayed. Later, when a police officer tried to help him flush his eyes with water, he scratched the officer with his fingernails.
He was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct, assaulting a police officer and with obstruction.
