Nadia’s Pharmacy was first to receive a new facades under the Warren Facade Improvement Program. The program modernizes and enhances business exteriors while creating a cohesive business aesthetic along Warren Avenue.
DEARBORN — Community members and business owners celebrated the first completed facade on Warren Avenue Sept. 11 at Nadia’s Pharmacy. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked a milestone in the city’s Warren Facade Improvement Program.
The WFIP initiative awards up to $200,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding with a 10 percent business match to improve the exterior facade of selected businesses located along the corridor between Lonyo Avenue and Greenfield Road. The new facades are intended to modernize, enhance, and create a cohesive business aesthetic along critical business corridors.
Businesses provide feedback on designs, which align with guidelines developed and adopted by the Warren Business District Improvement Authority.
Nadia’s Pharmacy has served the community along Warren for more than 35 years. Like many businesses along one of the city’s main business corridors, the storefront required repair to the outside structure as well as a modernized facelift.
“Businesses like Nadia’s Pharmacy deserve a refreshed facade to match the quality of service they’ve provided the community for years,” Mayor Abdullah Hammoud said. “It will join other improved storefronts on Warren Avenue this year to mark a new transformative chapter for this important corridor.”
Other Warren businesses, including Al-Ameer Restaurant and Cedarland Bakery, are undergoing construction with an anticipated completion in November. In addition, construction on the Hamzeh Pharmacy project is scheduled to begin in September and is expected to be finished around the same time, aligning with the completion of the other two businesses. Another wave of projects is slated for completion in Summer 2026.
The WFIP is part of an overall investment of more than $30 million in grants secured by the city for Warren, focusing on facade improvement, pedestrian safety, infrastructure, and placemaking.
