RIVERVIEW — A 36-year-old Wyandotte man was arrested Oct. 3 for operating under the influence of drugs in the parking lot of a cannabis shop after a caller reported his erratic maneuvering.
The driver, who was argumentative with the responding police officer, had constricted pupils and his speech was rapid. He appeared to have difficulty comprehending the questions the police officer asked of him.
A witness said the man nearly struck a motorcyclist in the parking lot. He said when the man parked erratically, then tried to trade returnable bottles for product and when he was turned away, he started smashing bottles in the parking lot.
The man had an active arrest warrant in Dearborn for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance.
Multiple officers worked in tandem to place the resisting man into a police vehicle, after which his car was impounded and towed.
He was taken to a hospital for a blood draw, and after processing at the police station was given a courtesy ride to his residence in Wyandotte.
