TAYLOR — An inebriated 52-year-old woman was arrested after she instigated a physical altercation the night of Oct. 31 at Circle K, 23890 Northline Road.
A male customer and a female cashier said there was a long line for checkout, so the woman went to a self-service checkout station, but she needed the clerk to approve her identification for the purchase of age-restricted items. The woman reportedly began yelling obscenities and demanded the clerk approve her purchase.
As other customers told the woman to wait her turn, she approached them, striking one of the men in line, who hit her back defensively, then shoved her away. The clerk then went out from behind the counter and attempted to separate the combative customers.
The woman declined first aid treatment from fire department personnel and was taken into custody for assault. When she was at the police station for booking, she demanded that she be taken to the hospital for treatment. However, she refused to cooperate with hospital personnel, so she was released against medical advice and returned to police custody.
