WYANDOTTE — A 41-year-old Melvindale man was arrested the night of Nov. 13 for fleeing and eluding and multiple outstanding arrest warrants after trying to evade a traffic stop at Eureka Road and 21st Street.
The man, who fled north on Fort Street at 100 mph, was discovered later by another police officer as he sped along Fort Street before turning onto westbound Outer Drive and hitting a traffic sign.
The man continued onto northbound I-75, where a rear tire on his vehicle began to shred, with the driver continuing to operate the vehicle on the metal rim. He exited at Dearborn Street before losing control and spinning out, after which he tried to flee on foot before being captured.
