The Divine Child High School varsity football team is honored during the Dec. 9 Dearborn City Council meeting for winning the 2025 Division 4 state football championship, beating Hudsonville Unity Christian 23-22 in the title game. Earning All-State honors are Marcello Vitti, who is a Gatorade Player of the Year, and Chris Hammock and Jack Bobin. The Falcons went 13-1 on the season. Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, a Fordson High School graduate, jokingly said that he thought of inviting the Fordson football coach to the council meeting so he could see what a winning football team looked like. (The Tractors finished 8-3, qualifying for the state playoffs where they lost in the second round.)
