RIVERVIEW — Surveillance cameras helped police officers track down a 65-year-old Grosse Ile Township woman who had repeatedly stolen fruit and other groceries from Concessi’s Marketplace, 13720 Sibley Road.
The woman, who repeatedly stole watermelon wedges, drove a silver Nissan Rogue. With a partial plate, police officers were able to identify the vehicle using FLOCK cameras, determined it was a rental vehicle, and were able to ascertain the name of the renter.
When the renter’s name was run in the Law Enforcement Information Network, the woman’s image matched the footage of the shoplifter from the grocery.
A citation was issued to her for retail fraud. The woman also had a valid warrant with the Dearborn Police Department for larceny.
