SOUTHGATE — A man was bitten by a 100-pound Catahoula leopard dog the night of Jan. 14 when he was trying to separate the dog from another dog it was attacking in the 13000 block of Jobin Street.
The victim was bitten on both hands and his chin. First responders provided immediate first aid and advised him to go to a hospital for additional treatment.
A dangerous animal report was made, and the owner confined the dog inside her house until animal control arrived to take it into custody.
