RIVERVIEW — A tip about a reckless driver Jan. 7 resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old Riverview man who was a wanted felon in Georgia for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The man also had multiple warrants with Trenton and three prior convictions for driving while his license was suspended.
The car’s registration was expired, and he did not have vehicle insurance.
The man had a 12-inch steel bar concealed between the driver’s door and his seat, which was treated as a concealed weapon and taken as evidence.
The vehicle was impounded and towed, the metal license plate was destroyed, and a temporary paper plate was issued.
The man was taken to the Riverview police station, where he was uncooperative during the booking process prior to being held.
