SOUTHGATE — A shoplifter stole $590 worth of sports team clothing from FanaticU on Jan. 17, which was reported by the general manager two days later after reviewing surveillance camera footage.
The man put a stolen jacket on under his own coat, then stuffed other clothing items inside the garment, and walked out of the store without rendering payment.
Among the stolen items were an Original Six jacket, a Detroit Lions hoodie, a Detroit Tigers crew neck shirt, Detroit Pistons shorts, a Detroit Lions T-shirt and a Michigan Wolverines hoodie.
The man was described as tall and wearing a North Face jacket, jeans and black shoes. He was seen driving a 2015 GMC Terrain.
Surveillance camera footage of the shoplifting was forwarded to the police detective bureau.
