TRENTON — A woman who was told on Jan. 27 that she had won a $9 million sweepstakes prize plus a car was conned into sending $3,330 via Amazon gift cards to cover the taxes for the alleged prize.
She was also told to go to a luxury car dealership to pick out a vehicle of her choice, and was then told to transfer $55,955 to an account to cover the taxes on the $9 million prize, but she became suspicious and refused to do so.
She then filed a police report, and was advised to block the callers and any similar communications.
