HEIGHTS — Nine feet of 3-inch diameter copper piping with a retail value of about $500 were reported stolen Feb. 18 from a boiler serving an apartment building on Canfield Drive.
Also stolen were a maintenance worker’s coat with her driver’s license, debit card and residence and vehicle keys in the pocket.
The woman said it would cost about $340 to have new keys made for her vehicle.
Local recycling centers said no one had tried to sell the unusual sized copper piping, but they would keep an eye out for it.
Individuals may only receive $25 a day for copper sales, and larger sales require notification and a check issued through the state, to deter large scale theft of copper.
