DEARBORN — An Inkster man seen exiting Ace Hardware, 22611 Michigan Ave., the morning of Jan. 31 with an armful of clothing, who then entered the driver’s seat of a stolen car and drove off, was subject to a traffic stop, during which vodka bottles with security caps and price stickers from Kroger were discovered in the back seat of the car.

The six vodka bottles had a $194 retail value.

The stolen vehicle was impounded and towed, the Ace merchandise was inventoried, and the vodka was returned to the nearby Kroger security office.

The driver and suspected shoplifter was charged with receiving and concealing the stolen vehicle, the Ace Hardware merchandise and the Kroger vodka.
