DEARBORN – An immersive cyclorama photo installation, “Gaza City,” created by Brooklyn-based artist Phil Buehler and Palestinian photojournalist Shrouq Al Aiya, is on display through July 31 at Henry Ford Centennial Library.
The walk-in, 360-degree photographic experience places viewers in the heart of the destruction of Gaza City, near the bombed out remains of the Islamic University.
It shows a tent city of refugees, with adults and children living out their daily lives amid the devastation.
The cyclorama is meant to serve as both a witness and a memorial to the human cost of the ongoing conflict.
Buehler worked with Al Aiya, who captured the images, to combine artistic and documentary practices to display the humanitarian impact to a world audience.
Henry Ford Centennial Library is at 16301 Michigan Ave.
